Sergey Efimovich Zakharov (1900-1993) was born in Alexandrovsk (Sakhalin island). In 1917-1927 he studied in Tomsk Institute of Construction and Architecture and at the same time (1917-1924) in Tomsk Art College. In 1927-1931 he lived in Sverdlovsk, in 1940-1944 - in Dushanbe (ex-Stalinabad, Tadjikistan); he kept his art-connexion with Tadjikistan for a long time. He took place in design of public and industrial buildings, including the buildings of Theatre of Lenin Komsomol in Leningrad (1933-1935), of Tadjik Theatre of Opera and Ballet (1936-1940), Tadjik Government House (1947-1948), Tadjik Public Library (1940-1951). Also participated in restoration of Mariinsky Palace in Leningrad (1945-1946). Designed interiors of Transatlantic ships ''Admiral Nakhimov'', ''Krym'', ''Sovetskiy Soyuz'' (1952-1957). During all his life created easel painting (tempera, water-colour).
